It's time to say goodbye.

Part 1/10 of my HSC Body of Work - 'Guanyin'

It has been so long since I had last updated this blog of mine.. red shield appeal feels like ages away. Well, here it is, I'm graduating at the end of this coming week. A part of me cannot wait to dive into my final studies and get the HSC ordeal over and done with but the other part can't detach itself from my grade- HAHS Class of 2012.

I came to Hurlstone in 2008 and moved from a school that although I academically excelled in, failed to make any friends and was bullied constantly. Coming to Hurlstone and doing that entry exam - this is what I believe to be the best decision of my life so far. I'm not one to be all soppy and lovey dovey but, I have loved every second of my school life here at Hurlstone.

Sure, there were times that I wanted to forget- the zero for Yr 9 PE, the month of therapy the school made undertake because I wrote 'I HATE MYSELF' on my biathlon slip and the horrendous Offline lessons with Crancher- but other than that, Hurlstone will forever be a blissful memory for me.

I am preparing myself for the week to come. It will be grand, it will be fun, it will be memorable. Let's just hope I can handle the Final Assembly because the moment I hear that song that's played at every farewell ceremony (reminiscing circa 2006), I will be a mess.

It's time to say our goodbyes. It's time to tie those loose ends with people that you never got around to really form good relations with.. it's time to just surround ourselves with the people you love until 2:55pm, Monday the 17th of September, 2012.

Exploring new spaces.

So today I went to an Architecture workshop at UNSW with George and far, the trip there was difficult. It kept raining non stop and seriously- waiting at Glenfield, even under shelter - I was still drenched cause the effing rain decides to piss itself on an angle just to fuck with everyone. Anyways, took an uncomfortable bus ride to uni and I still can't get over how neat and clean all the buildings were :')

The workshop was relatively engaging- just drawing random buildings and stuff for an hour, using ideas like 'decay' and 'fluidity'. I made alright sketches but as I found out later in the practical... was not practical to be built. HAHAHAHA.

Gosh how I led my group to failure. So we were going for an elaborate temple design with pillars and arches and everything... it just collapsed miserably. Vanessa had to be shoved inside it to support the damn thing ahhaa. Nonetheless, as a true hurlstonian, I managed to bs the presenting, throwing out the temple idea and just going on about curvature and 'fluid decay' LOLLLLL

After, George and I just bought some subway and admired UNSW. If it weren't for my desired coursed being better suited for UTS, I would love to go here. Though I'd probably be grumpy from the lousy bus rides and the accumulated costs involved :(

Gonna leave you with some sad mellow music while you sip on hot cocoa and stare out at the rain and wonder why you're alone and no one loves you while other people post up pictures of their couple antics and they're like ILY<3333 GF/BF THAT JUST WANTS TO FUCK ME OH BTW, WE'RE ONLY GOING OUT FOR LIKE A WEEK BUT I TOTALLY WANNA PUT MY UTERUS IN HIM.

.

Some people are so talented I just want to die. Above are paintings by Pakayla Biehn, inspired from double exposure photography. Oh god, if I only had that skill- I could paint poop in flowers and it would still get 100%.

Art Bow progress is slowly improving, I've browsed many sites and magazines to gather some ideas in terms of patterns and overall composition, adding them to my online vapd. Praise Ms Coombes and Ross for the iPads = convenience everytime. Can't wait to get back and just get into my work. I'm giving myself a deadline of this term to start and finish my major Buddha piece. Go Go Go!

Everyone has been going out because they're on their Ps and all live relatively close to each other :( I want to go out... seriously, the only thing that I'm looking forward to is Architecture workshop at UNSW on Wednesday with George. Gahh, have to catch a 6something am train through :'( Oh well, this gives me an opportunity to cover up with scarves and jackets and experience the closest thing to Winter in the city.. minus snow.

Peak exam this week and I've missed 2 lessons, hence alot of info so blehghh, not in the mood. Bloody everyone is starting to pick up their study habits and I'm just hear, tired as hell from doing 3-4 SS dotpoints. THIS IS NOT HOW I WANT MY HSC TO BE LIKE. Q___Q I need something to motivate me.. but I'm sure that'll come next weekish when we're back at school and I see I have failed half my tests :'(

THINK POSITIVE THOUGHTS MITCHELL.

It just occurred to me-I've done nothing with my life... I'm fat, forever single, not excelling academically nor am I socially active.. what the fuck.

This is going to be my last post in a while. HSC motivation has kicked in (after reading about how much Korean kids study i.e. 6am to midnight ~ school then tutoring) and the immense pressure that I'm under to do well, not only for myself but for my future. I NEED to get into UTS with a 94 ATAR.

My fortune above from the temple isn't so good ; they told I'm gonna fail if I remain lazy ; so yeah, even the heavens are telling me to get my head outta my ass into my books! School starts soon, I'm cramming my belonging texts and dotpoints... at this rate it's a bad start to a new year.

See you guys back at school!

I love the colours of these (note: not edited in any way) :D Take that instagram! My week long holiday in Melbourne has drawn to a close. I've become closer with a sister that I only really talk to once a year and I've seen, been to and experienced so much.

I think one thing that Melbourne has influenced about me is the laid-backness of the city! Creativity pours endlessly, art is actually appreciated and implemented in 'real' society and everyone is just...happy.

Oh yeah, I also learnt how to drive whilst down there :P even though I don't have my Ls hahahaha *shhhhh*

Ok, holiday over- time to hit the books till the calendar strikes November.
A walk in the laneways.

Roadtrip to Melbourne consisted of driving for 12 hours straight, making various pitstops to the big merino, the big submarine and the big Ned Kelly. The scenery of the Australian countryside is beautiful (although after 5 hrs of seeing the same composition of rustic yellows, dry grasses and dead trees, does get a bit monotonous) haha. Finally arrived at Melbourne in the end! :D Going to go shopping tomorrow so weeeee.
